French prosecutors on Thursday said they had launched an investigation on suspicion of rape and procurement of sex workers against a video pornography site. The investigation against the site, Jacquie et Michel, was launched after a complaint from three feminist groups. It was launched in July but has only been confirmed now after a report in in the 20 Minutes daily. The feminist groups had collected testimony from actresses who performed for site who claimed they were forced to undertake painful and unusual sexual practices which they had not given their consent to. The opening of the investigation "is for us a strong signal to this industry which exploits and violates a large number of women", said Claire Quidet, head of the Nid group, one of the organisations behind the complaint. "More and more people who have been actresses in the pornographic industry come to us to tell what they have been through," she told AFP. "They understood that what they have experienced and suffered is not normal." bl-cbo-sjw/har
